Romina Boscolo has a wonderfully dark and mellow voice.

Italian mezzosoprano Romina Boscolo studied with Franca Mattiucci from the age of 16. In 2002 she attended the Accademia Rossiniana with Alberto Zedda in 2002 and performed Marchesa Melibea (Il Viaggio a Reims).
She continued her studies at the Accademia Chigiana with Bernadette Manca di Nissa, at Mozarteum Salzburg with Christa Ludwig with whom she studied Mahler’s Lieder.
Her first perfomance of Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder received enthusiastic reviews and won her the Calpurnia Prize at Festival delle Nazioni in 2005.

Romina Boscolo is currently  engaged as Jezibaba (Rusalka) at Theater Lübeck. Her next engagements include Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Mary (Der fliegende Holländer); Mrs Sedley (Peter Grimes) in Wiesbaden; Anita (West Side Story) at Opéra de Nice.

In the last season 2018/19 Romina Boscolo made her debut as Adelaide (Arabella) at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and Theater Kiel; Ulrica (Un Ballo in Maschera) in Wiesbaden, at Theater Bremen, and at Theater Chemnitz; Larina (Eugen Onegin) at Theater Freiburg and in Wiesbaden; Old Lady (Candide) and Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) in Wiesbaden.

In recent seasons, her guest operatic appearances have included Jezibaba (Rusalka) in Bremen; Mrs Quickly (Falstaff) in Wiesbaden; Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica) and Polinesso (Ariodante) at Theater Lübeck; Ulrica (Un Ballo in Maschera) at Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken; Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi) at Teatro Regio Parma; Mrs Quickly (Falstaff) at Theatro Municipal Sao Paulo with J. Neschling; Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica) and Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi)at Theater Köln; Comare (Crispino e la Comare) at Festival della Valle d’Itria.

As a member of the Ensemble of Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (2014-2017), she performed Aliyah (Die Schönerland), Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Mary (Der fliegende Holländer), Erda (Das Rheingold and Siegfried), Schwertleite (Die Walküre), Prinz Orlowsky (Die Fledermaus), Voix de la Mère (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Stimme von Oben (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Preziosilla (La Forza del Destino), Mrs Sedley (Peter Grimes), and Larina (Eugen Onegin).

In 2012 she performed Dorimena (Dorimena e Tuberone) at Wiener Konzerthaus with Antonio Florio’s I Turchini; the Mezzosopran (Jakob Lenz) directed by H. Brockhaus at Teatro Comunale Bologna; Rossini’s Stabat Mater at the CSO Concert Hall in Ankara conducted by Antonio Pirolli; Carmen at Festival Ivrea; Wowkle (La Fanciulla del West) at Montercarlo National Opera House conducted by P. Steinberg and directed by G. Del Monaco.

Romina Boscolo made her Italian debut at the age of 20 as Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera) at Teatro Carlo Felice Genova, followed by her first starring role Isabella (L’italiana in Algeri) at Teatro Carignano Torino. In this period, she also performed many concert masterworks: Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Händel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem.

In 2010 she made her professional debut at Theater Köln as Ottavia (L’Incoronazione di Poppea); followed by Donna Peppenella (Napoli Milionaria!) and Dritte Dame (Das geheime Königreich) at Festival della Valle d’Itria; Adalgisa (Norma) at Teatro Pergolesi Jesi; Mrs Quickly (Falstaff) at Teatro Lirico Sperimentale Sassari, Maddalena (Rigoletto) at Festival Massa Marittima; Eunuco (Il Corsaro) at Teatro G. Verdi Trieste with G. Gelmetti.

On the concert platform, she started very soon her activity, which includes Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder and Rückert-LiederJocasta (Oedipus Rex) at Teatro Regio,Turin, Bellini’s Canzoni per voce e pianoforte in Turin’s Auditorium and Teatro V. Bellini Catania, Dvorak’s Requiem in Istanbul, Mendelssohn’s Elijah at the Auditorium RAI Torino, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Porpora’s Salve Regina and Vivaldi’s Gloria. She has collaborated with orchestras such as I Pomeriggi Musicali, Guido Cantelli Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Montecarlo National Philarmonic Orchestra, Il Falcone, I Turchini di Antonio Florio, and Accademia Bizantina.
